By Virtue of My Office – Dr. Ken Korby’s Lecture to the Southern Illinois District – Part 2

Korby

I’ve taken the 4 audio files of Dr. Korby’s lecture to the Southern Illinois District found on Pr. David Peterson’s site, tried to clean them up, and assemble them into coherent parts as best as I could. There were sections missing due, I’m assuming, to limits of the recording technology available.

This is part 2.

By Virtue of My Office – Dr. Ken Korby’s Lecture to the Southern Illinois District – Part 1

In this first part, Dr. Korby starts by giving some background information on himself including his love for Russian literature, his pastoral exile, and his fight to spread the practice of private confession and absolution. He expresses concern for a lack of critical scholarship on the writing of C.F.W. Walther. Then ventures into Church and the Office of the Ministry discussing rite vocatus, Augsburg Confession 14, and Smalcald Articles 3:12 .
